If You Don't Love Me Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

If You Don't Love Me

Rating: 5.0

If you don't love me
I will not be a tree any more
I will not bear flowers and
Fruits and give shade to the
Thirsty travelers any more

If you don't love me
I won't whisper songs of
Divine union between souls
Anymore and keep silence
Like a way ward tide in the
Calm surface of an ocean

If you don't love me
I will not watch the surly
Birds fighting for worms in
The grasses and tear away
Each other's plumes and smile

I will be like a saint of yore
Sitting under a tree I will
Let my thoughts wander with
The clouds and get lost beyond
The horizon of time forever

A lost love can make life meaningless. A poignant and heartfelt write. Well conveyed.
