Ignorance Poem by Carina Yuan

Ignorance

I love
how you call
people ignorant
when you are
ignorant yourself.
However,
I do not claim
Perfection.
But I try
To understand
Which is
Much more
Than I can
Say
For you.
You go around
Calling people
Fake
When they are
More real
Then you'll ever
Come close
To being.
You don't stop
To think
Just how
Your words
Affect others.
Like that girl
You called
Fat.
And the boy
You teased
Because
He was
Homosexual.
You laugh
at scars
That cover
A wrist
Or arm
You sneer
At ribs
That poke
Through skin
Trying to stay thin.
You just don't
Realize
What goes on
In the minds
Of the alone.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Something I came up with when I was pissed at a classmate who is always picking on other people.
