Illusions Poem by Dee Daffodil

Illusions

Rating: 5.0

How can it be that
Someone so far
Can seem so near?

How can a brand new friend
So quickly seem so dear?

How can it be that heart and soul
Are bared...
As friendship grows
To fill a void?

I ask...
And yet... within... I know
The answer lies...

It cannot be!
Illusions...all

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Oh Dee! No, no, no! Tara and I are living proof that's not the case. Unless, of course, this is a deeply personal poem. Either way it's a great write. Ez X

Yes.. yess, i ws just going to say what Ez said. i agree that if it is to fill a void then it is perhaps transient and serving the purpose only of the person who has the void, who then doesn't need the befriender any more. But here on PH I have and believe you have a lot of close friends and we all see each other through thick and thin but more importantly when completely on the level! When nobody has any 'need' true friendship comes into its own. Hope all is OK sweetheart. t xxx

Friends can remain friends across the miles. Words that are soothing, words that are supporting, words that connect us all. We form a 'web' with lines connecting to each other, and we accept each other as we are, singular spirits but all forming a great bond and using this wonderful way of communication, united in our poetry. Lovely write. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX

Much of life is only but an illusion. What seems unlikely is sometimes true. Sometimes we find much common ground, experiences so friendships form quicker. Odds are your internet friend has no expectation or demands of you... Likes you for who you are. Sometimes it is easier to tell internet friends things that one would not tell long time friends or spouces. What would make your friend real rather than illusion? Physical contact? Looking into their eyes? Some Herculean deed to prove devotion? ....I suspect none of those elements are needed. Protect your heart, but don't to too surprised if you have found yet another a lifelong friend. Zen

It cannot be! In my little hiatus I've missed my friends from here very much Dee, you being one of the best! I hope all is well! Hugs, Diane

Dee, listen to Ez, Tara, Ernestine and me. We are not illusions. You have many friends here and no matter how illusionary things may get we are here for you. It's genuine. Forget those time-wasters. We do! Great piece of writing from the heart, as usual. And what a great response, eh? Love, Fran xxx

I'm a little thick and not sure I fully understand, but who cares, I like the way you wrote it!

Dee, Is it done with smoke and mirrors ? ... and are you doing it to yourself? ... and to who else? B.V.A.
