I'm In A Prison Of Love Poem by Gary James Smith

I'm In A Prison Of Love

I'm In A Prison Of Love

I'm in a prison of love
My God doth hold me fast
And He's thrown the key away
His love for me shall last
O there's no want of escaping
I've never felt such love before
When I think upon His great love for me
I want to love Him the more

His hands and His feet bore love for me
A crown of thorns bore love on His head
Love bore the wound of a pierced side
When Christ died in my stead
Love brought forgiveness to that thief
Who believed on the Lord that day
And love continues in the hearts of those
Who know the Saviour and His loving ways

No greater prison in the which to be cast
Protected by God's love
There's nothing that shall ever come against me
But that He does not approve
O what resting have I now
What peace and joy within
A prisoner to the love of God
Having no greater love than for Him

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
