In All Things Unknowing Poem by Summer Benefield

In All Things Unknowing

But what did I mean when I never looked back to you
Even in your desperate glances
And in the way the world expected me?

For you were my gallant superhero, isn't that right?
And my destiny was under you
And nothing I could say would matter.

As I look up all I see is sky
And the constant buzzing of this bee
Who never knew your scornful smirk
And never will.

And when I look down the earth is green
And the stains of my blood have faded
Like your memory.
