My pain is so intense
That I feel numb inside
All emotions within me
Are greatly denied.
I refuse to cry anymore
No tears of mine do flow
I feel such deep sorrow
That only my eyes could show.
I laugh, I smile
As if nothing has gone wrong.
I eat, I sleep
And still sing every song.
But from time to time
I'm reminded of you
I repress the sadness
And think of something new.
I put on a brave front
And say that I don't care
When my heart longs for you
And still need you there.
