In My Mind
In my mind
we have time
to sleep our troubles away
and never have to bother
with the worries of our past
that bite and scratch our ankles
as we run away so fast
leave them in the dust
Oh, love, I want you back
so come and rest with me
ignore their grating words
that push and prod for answers
to questions left unheard
Bring the moon with you
I’ll bring the stars
and our love will make the comets
and we’ll go so far

except for my wanting to change the line: leave them in the dust to leaving them in the dust, i would not change a thing in your poem. i think it is grand. i love the lines: ignore their grating words that push and prod for answers to questions left unheard thanks for sharing. i hope this will not be your last submission to poemhunter.
