In The Cage... Poem by Elaph Ansari

In The Cage...

Rating: 4.5

There lived a parrot in the cage,
Humans are pail of rage,
She adage to me…
Am I a human game?
Do I not have a life?
Every day I tread on a sharp knife,
I never saw the sky,
I do not know how to fly,
Ergo I cry.
Will animals not get the freedom?
Will they eternally live in serfdom?
Animals do not express the feeling but they have,
So please cease the sclave.
I am dying without flying!
I am happy to leave this greedy world,
I forlorn that in the sky I ne'er swirled…

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
my aunty's friend had given her a parrot to take care.First day, I was very happy to see a parrot; but next day at night, I looked into its eye and suddenly a thought appeared in my mind that it will never be able to fly because it was born in cage and perhaps will die in the cage. So, I became very sentimental and decided to penned down my thoughts.
