If a thousand years
Is but a day
How many years
Have I to wait?
Five scores times three
And then some more
Did Caleb pause
At Hebron’s door
His heart was fixed
Steadfast and true
Awaiting strong
For God to do
What He had promised
Days ago, or seconds…
No minutes…
Oh, who’s to know!
God has no time
To govern Him
He is not sift’d
Like grains of sand
That fall through panes
Of hour glass
That man may boast
Their human craft
Despite our whit
We can’t dictate
Or pull God’s trump
And force His fate
It is not us
Who change the flow
Of time – to fast…
Or pause, or slow
But instead it’s we
Who are like sand
Our lives play out
Within God’s hand
We need not fret
Or wonder when
He did it before…
He’ll do it again
His word to us
Will go as plan
His promises are
Yea and A-men!
So like Caleb
You boldly go…
Possess the land
Cause God said so!

Id promise given days before he should not forget and keep it if possible. This poem is very brilliantly penned.
