"In The Line Of Duty" Poem by Terry Knight

"In The Line Of Duty"

Rating: 4.0

In the service, there is an honor
That stems from deep within
A bonding that is permanent
Creating everlasting friends

Total trust is established
All doubts are taken away
Putting your life in another's hands
Each and everyday

You become unwavering dependent
Like a well-oiled machine
Knowing each and every step
Of everyone on your team

With pride, you except your duty
Knowing some will sometimes fall
Still without a thought of hesitation
You bravely face all calls

Now this applies to everyone
Who in the line of duty, they take their place
Willing to give their lives
To keep this nation secure and safe
