Joseph Furtado
A great forgotten poet of Goa
Which we could not feel it then
His flights, romances with the language,
The speech,
His humour, light verses, fun, pun,
Mirth, joviality

Now in oblivion lies he
Almost into the shadows,
Pushed to the sideways
A great poet of Goa
And had we the language well,
We mean it Angrezi,
We would have definitely
Admired his talents,
Appreciated.

Actually we failed to take into
His light humour, comic spirit,
Gay temperament, jolly mood,
Sing-song quality,
The romping spirit, revelling nature.
