In The Shoe's Of Another Poem by Tommie Cobb

In The Shoe's Of Another

As i sit here with your face
Places we have switched
You try and plead your case
Finally understanding 'you don't know what you've got to you've lost it' all to late
I have your power the position you so wanted to lose
giving it back is something i choose
I do away with you now I despise your unknown face
Lying to myself when you said this power i would taste
who knew so corrupting a chair could be
a position of money, life, and high dignity
but all this fun is only for a week
for now the hunt begins the strong vs the weak
I took a position i knew nothing about
something you were bred for
Something you were born about
Now i see myself running at breakneck speeds
Escaping the hunter dogs that are after me
now i understand it all to late
the person in charge show his leader ship by making it through a game
of cats and dogs but no reset button once your caught your hanged
this position i took was leader of an escape from the south
see its slavery time and they let the dogs out
no one to see me
to hear my shouts of pain
as these damn dogs rip my flesh they tame
i'm a ragdoll to them, so weak and frail
leading a lost pack practically to hell
i've lived your shoes i saw through your eyes
Please take it back i'm too young to die
Silence is all that stands between me and pain
being linched on spot memory destroyed by the flames
what did i do? who am I to me?
thats right im a dying slave
wanting to be free
taking my leaders spot
leaving with the rest
who knew leadership could cause a burning in ones chest..........
