In The Soul Of Darkness

Help that hurts
Comes straight from the heart
Serious and irrevocable
It is unflinchingly precise

Disturbing and original
It is deeply shocking
Moving and always compelling
It is a war of nerves triumph

To write deceptively a tale
Bold, refreshing and brave
To tell it as it actually is
A war for peace

An irony as compelling as an empty page

The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;

And home we brought you shoulder-high.
