In War Zones Poem by L.B. Temuco

In War Zones

These small mucous steps
that flies make
in war zones
beneath the sounds
of planes diving on buildings
They lay eggs of hope
in the decaying flesh
of fathers and mothers
in whose upturned eyes
lost children wander
brave young men on horses
disappear in the night
The earth is larger always
than the circle of our lives
In time it cleanses us
of everything, changes
all the locks
