Inception Poem by Lisa Arnold

Inception

Rating: 5.0

ruptured mind can't mend
or begin to think
got me on the defense
shattered soul lost
pulling on this wicked vise
cold
not enough time
to reverse the crimes
committed against me
life has been unkind
to me, blind interruption,
still I lust and trust
got me thirsting
for what I don't have
like always, I crush the crave
with a shot glass from that life-saving bottle
clutch it closer than a bible
code of deception
rusting beneath the inception
don't pull the plug, breathe life
inside my weakened body
offer me support so I don't fall
beneath the altar of this flimsy anchor
