Influences Poem by Helen Bauman

Influences

Rating: 5.0

Our Influences
Scarily subtle, secretive
Extrasensory perhaps
Revealed decades later
by chance -
upon glimpsing works by Masters past
entwining among today's dreams
as the fabric of our nature.
Inescapable.
As adopted without conscious will
We take that which suits us -
Our idea of this day
May tomorrow reject, regret,
But this will do today.
