Inmost Wish Poem by Priyaranjan Ojha

Inmost Wish

When stepped in this bewitching terra
And viewed the sunshine for a glance
Never knew whose blessing was it!
New-born infant knew only to cry.
Hence, mother's warmth and tender care
And affectionate doting of a father
Fetched smiles on my face.
Oh! I began to grow up thus.

When illusory knowledge of life
Meshes to me; I can not but
Appreciate thine immolation for
Mine cultivation. O Mother O Father,
The paramount source of strength and
Inspiration, do accept my oblation.
Thine are the originator of my soul.
Would life ever been well-disposed so,
Except such cordial assistance?

No knowledge I have how to pay off you!
But intense craving develops in me.
Profound aspiration fills mine each vein
Intends to be with you till the end.
When time sloths the natural flow of Life
O Mother O Father, I wish to be there
Beside you being like stable anchorage,
Mine inmost wish thus finds only way to salvation.
