Inner Landscapes Poem by Gabrielle Stahlie

Inner Landscapes

Rating: 4.0

Closing my eyes
I see splendid colours
Uprising mountains
Dark and grey
I do'nt have to travel
I do'nt have to go there
Closing my eyes
To see it that way

Watching from a distance
I see Aldebaran
A pearly white moon
The Milky Way
At the end of the world
At the end of the rainbow
There is this space
I want to stay

Opening my eyes
I see filth, a hostile city
And nearby
My own small place
Awaking from dreaming
Alert, all my senses
Dreary relality
Stares me right in my face

I liked this, nicely written, at times dreams and our imagination can be the only way to have a holiday from an obscene society we live in
