Innocence Lost Poem by karin collins

Innocence Lost

Rating: 5.0

You’ve got a hold on me
That’s tight around my neck
The nightmares they won’t stop
You’ve made my life a wreck

I was only a small child
Whose innocence you took
You did your dirty deeds
When you knew no one would look

I thought that I had put you
In a place you couldn’t break.
I buried you so long ago
Your memory I couldn’t take.

But now after all these years
Just when I thought that I was strong
You have surfaced once again
It didn’t take you long

I remember what you did
My body knows it well
I wish that you were dead and gone
And burning hot in hell

There are no words to describe you
No revenge that I can take
Except warn every mother’s daughter
Of the terror you will make

So sit in some group therapy
And think you’re getting better
And fool yourself redeemed
Because you wrote some letter

I really don’t think I give a damn
If you’re sorry or you’re not
I wish for you to go to hell
And forever rot.
