Innocent Ways Poem by Deepak Calyampoondi

Innocent Ways

Your innocent ways never die,
They lie just beneath your skin,
They shy away whenever we lie,
Otherwise innocence always wins.

A true companion and a noble guide,
Always listen to that innocent voice within,
Else your life is a down slide,
And you give a chance for the Devil to grin.

The world might be mean,
But never part ways with innocence,
For it's the key to the world unseen,
That's the wisdom in essence.

There is always a child in you who seeks,
The innocent ways when alone,
For when shown you are called 'The meek',
And with mocking laughter you are blown.

Your innocent ways are a path to heaven,
They give you inner strength and wisdom,
Never even think of getting even,
For you are the real king in the Angels' kingdom.
