Insecure Poem by Janella Chu

Insecure

Look in the mirror; what do you see?
A broken face, a small smile.
This body, filled with malice and animosity,
Why would i have a reason to smile?

Look at my eyes; what do you see?
Regret, fear, insecurity.
These eyes, which brim with tears of depression,
Who would even care?

A child as happy as me,
Did you ever wonder if i could frown?
When I laugh and act care-free,
Did you ever think that it could be a lie?

Im a lie; Im nothing.
