Inside A Poem

Rating: 5.0

Immersing my cupped hands into it,
I collect a chunk of uncontainable light,
A wisdom to see places wise people talk about,
Where I can vanish at least a dozen times, and
Dream of becoming a member to a family of things,
Like a marriage to amazement, to astonishment
Of how thoughts can be dressed in sophisticated adjectives,
Words whose eyelash of elegance can be mild and brutal.

In here, a floor of darkness becomes modest green acres,
As the climbing sun, like 10,000 blazing lilies,
Disposes sheets of immeasurable clouds,
Letting the radiance of the sky fall over me.
Such magical enlightenment, as I learn the possibility
Of hearing the heart of a thorn beating,
Of touching the edge of the wind,
And even of eternity.
