Insignificant Boil ~ Major Pain Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Insignificant Boil ~ Major Pain

Why are the smallest things
The most painful to bear?
I’ve a boil on my upper thigh ~
Now ~ How did it get there?

I’m using Kaolin Poultices ~
You don’t wish to know ~ it hurts!
But for how long must I use them?
When I sit ~ it surely smarts.

I try to forget it,
And perform my daily work,
But I’m always mindful of it,
From the pain ~ I wish to shirk.

In time it will heal surely,
I’m led to understand,
But until it does heal properly,
I’ll have to often stand.

Putting pressure on it,
Although covered with layers and layers,
To get it to heal more quickly,
I’ll have to say more prayers.
