i am awake and yet i am asleep
my thoughts are entwined in dreams
my fingers slowly reach to feel your face
and air quick rushes in to take its place
i am muted and yet i am so loud
my words are tangled in songs
my ears strain to delight in your sweet voice
but the city streets fill them up with noise
I love you and I cannot share my love
my heart beats inside a corpse
my soul looks to the heavens for a way
to salve this pain i endure night and day
