Inspiration comes unannounced
And effortlessly enters the mind
Its flow as smooth as water
Its course charted already

When it comes, it takes over
The whole of one's existence
Every sense comes to focus
Till its assigned task is done

It can come from a little flower
The mountains, the sky or a star
It can come from the river, the sea
A bird, a bee, a tree

It can come from life's tragedies
Or a comedy of many parts
From anger, from hatred, from fear
Or from a rebellious heart

It comes at its own will
And departs as quietly
But no art is ever born
Without Godsend inspiration
