If nature had been kinder
And granted unto me
A stronger sense of confidence
Or a better memory
If these things they had been granted
A better man I'd be
Insread of slow and nervous
I'm yearning to be free
They are like leeches round my neck
My lifes blood they will drain
They've taken every chance I've had
And left me only pain
If I had paid attention
When I was young at school
I'd have been an intellectual
Instead of just a fool
So listen well you truants
And heed your teacher well
For without an education
Life can be a living hell.
This is a lesson we all learn too late. You can't put an old head on young shoulders, mores the pity! Great write here. Loved it. Love Ernestine XXX
