Insufficient Isn't Beneficial Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Insufficient Isn't Beneficial

Insufficient isn't beneficial.
Should it be?
To anyone seeking benefit.
With it sought.
Glad to expect and get disappointment.
Received.

Insufficient isn't beneficial.
What purpose is served.
Doubt?
To keep the significance of it,
Official.

Unlike before.
More on the door are knocking.
Appearing to want,
Their questions answered.
Not blocked or stopped,
By outdated excuses heard everyday.

Unlike before.
Not too many accept being ignored.
Few are the lifelines left,
For those caring less.
Hoping their thoughtlessness,
Is acceptable.
People are not requesting specifics.
They have begun to demand them.
In these serious times.
And many are finding,
Insufficient is not a quality of life...
They have promised to themselves,
With wishes to live.
Someone has to be held accountable.
And more are on that door knocking.
Seeking to get sufficient and effective,
Benefit.
That represents their invested time,
And resources spent.
Without promises.
But delivery of the goods.
Compensation enough,
For decades of their patience wasted.
And a stopping to allow themselves,
To be taken for granted with sweet lies.
