"The pipe goes by my house, "
-she declared with frown
-maybe not
-with tears in her eyes
-maybe not
-depressed and fully lost!

Next, defined, explained
-the exact location
-with father's business,
-livelihood, amusement, intention…

"Daddy is fisherman
-uses the old style
-making sure to have catch;
-for killing he hits them
-with hammer on the head…"

She stopped eating meat
- "…is cruel, as I see;
-but it is our culture
-that lasted for ages..."

We talk of B.C. fight
-to let go, or stop
-inserting the oil-pipe.

We live in Toronto, have class
-B.C. is too far and in news
-to us is like breeze
-passing us as does wind!
-We do not feel trees
-there, too-far, when speak
-with them, she lives, breathes.

Those who are in distance
-hear and interpret;
-same is with archaeologists
-as well as filmmakers
-who write the scripts
-adapting Allan Poe's stories…
