Into My Grave Poem by Allyson Gordon

Into My Grave

Lying still in my coffin
Forever here I will lay
Safe in my eternal tomb
Peace and silence will now stay

My cold dead hands
Lie upon my chest
On this satin cushion
My body shall rest

My face pale
Eyes closed tight
Into my grave I will be placed
Never again to see light

While loved ones mourne
And ask themselves “why? ”
I’ll be smiling from heaven
Because I wanted to die
