Intrepid Poem by Leonard Dabydeen

Intrepid

From the sky
bearing no animosity
not a shame to befriend
no enemy daring
it comes
with a warning sign
first as tiny drops
a little later
it waits for your wet response
rushes as a torrent
pours its heart out
daunting
marries the clouds
makes some pregnant
again
like last evening
while you watch
eyes beaming
through window panes.
