Intrigued Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Intrigued

Intrigued

So, is said, and I heard:
"Finally, after years
The years of bareness,
Nakedness, dryness,
The skirt of mountains
Has seen some greenness."

Recall when I was child,
Barefoot, I, ran around,
Rode donkey or a horse,
In my mind, but in fact
I rode a stick, wood.

Then, could say:
"Green was everywhere."

Till then the villages
Sold more than they purchased.

Time brought the changes,
Turned cities to bases,
For work and factories,
Buying less than selling.

Villages sold fruits,
Sold crops, also wood,
Even roots of bushes,
Extracted with knives,
Among them tragacanth.

When village as prey
Was hunted by devil,
Fainted and bloodless,
Ruled the leech, vampire,
Then arrived the vultures,
To fight over corpses.

Bushes mourned for trees,
Death came to supersede,
Left even birds, jackals,
Took their lives, departed.

In ruins of village
The owl built a firm nest!

People, forced, scattered,
Some slouched, far away,
Had to leave, immigrate,
Powerless was remained,
Stayed back in shelters…

Governed Sun with fire,
Burned green, trackless!

Few chose to return,
They escaped ruthlessness.

One or two, as I heard,
Have chosen the mountains.

There, seeing some water,
Took walnuts, planted,
Now, trees have grown,
Green is that skirt.

Distanced, I, by oceans,
Dance, smile, celebrate,
Admire their efforts.

These true descendants
Of our shared ancestors
Are braves, devoted,
Their path is righteousness.

Zoroaster told us to:
"Avoid harming nature,
Try hard, to nurture,
Grow food for yourself,
Also feed the others…"
This is the Hormazd-Faith.

We follow Zoroaster,
With three commandments:
"Wet think good and talk well,
Good deed means fulfilment."

Listen owl, take message:
"These people are Great,
They follow Zoroaster,
Cyrus's Cylinder."
