Invisible Demon Poem by David A. Moore

Invisible Demon

How do you fight an invisible demon?
How do you treat an invisible wound?
How do you recognize an invisible victim
Suffocating inside an invisible tomb?

How can someone so silently suffer?
How does the demon so stifle their cries?
How does he do it in silence and shadow
And bury the pain so deeply inside?

How can he do it so nobody sees it,
While people meander around?
How can he linger and torture so slowly,
And it still doesn't come that this villain is found?

How is it no one comes to their rescue?
How can this fight be unknown?
How can it be that, surrounded by heroes,
These multitudes still face the demon alone?
