Is What You Make Of It Poem by Francis Duggan

Is What You Make Of It

Life is what you make of it as some like to say
But with many so many it is not this way
They look to the future in little hope
With day to day living they only can cope
Life is what you make of it to them does not apply
The reason for this I have already said why
Feeling depressed and financially down
And without a job to go to on the poor side of the town
Life is what you make of it is not for everyone
Not for the unemployed parents or their daughter or son
They are born into life for to battle the odds
And live as the children of the lesser gods
Of day to day living they struggle to cope
And of a better future for themselves does see little hope.
