Isakievsky Sabor
It is eighteen twelve
-the time of Napoleon
-whose grip on Paris
-does not seem to suffice
-his forces at Moscow
-wait and fight to enter
-enemy is nature
-Russian armed forces too
-have a role to play…
Troops are left in cold
-hungry and worn out
-order comes to return
-on the way are looters
-weary, wild, half clothed
-no mercy, aim is gold
-no one cares for the lives
-old, rich, poor or the young
-kill and bite, eat flesh
-this is law of the wars
Alexander tsar, later on ‘The Great'
-grandson to Catharine
-Ex-friend of Voltaire
-things have changed
-between the governments
-friendship has soured
-enmity takes Tsar to Paris
-a city invaded, on fire…
France means hunger and
-disaster and fear
-men, women on the run
-to be safe, for their lives
-most goers are brains
-safety is heaven
-as has been forever
Example and lesson
-Isakievsky Sabor in Peter
-Russia is a haven for brains
