It Is A Wonderful Juicy Delicious Conundrum Poem by Raymond Farrell

It Is A Wonderful Juicy Delicious Conundrum

It is a wonderful
Juicy delicious conundrum
That we humans
Each and every single one of us
Are made up of approximately
100 trillion individual cells
None of which know
Who we are
Or give a hoot about us
Yet somehow
Collectively
They, these cells
Work together
In many diverse ways
Still as yet
Not well understood
To allow us to be
Who we claim to be
As discrete
And unique individuals.

The numbers can be mind numbing.100 billion neurons, each with tens of thousands of synaptic connections. Our individual brains are as unique as the number of atoms in the universe. Consciousness arises from this complexity. We are each special.
