It Is All Quite Humbling Poem by Raymond Farrell

It Is All Quite Humbling

It is all quite humbling
To think how little
We really know
About what determines
How we react
To our environment
Even when we think
We have the situation
Under control
A simple parasitic infection
With toxoplasmosis
Or an unexpected odor
Or even certain foods
And many other things
As yet unknown
May trigger
Certain emotions
Responses and behaviors
Know thyself
Sounds profound
But appears to be
An impossible task
to accomplish.
