It's A Heavy Freedom. Poem by Joseph Alexander

It's A Heavy Freedom.

It was definitely the right decision.
Logically, there was no other decision to make,
But the blue in your eyes tells me otherwise, and this emptiness nags at my conscience.

With you I found chaos.
Yet in the midst of your storms I found acceptance. I found my reason. I found everything.
Your winds blew me from pillar to post, but your breezes calmed me.
I was always ready to suffer another blow. Why not this time?
Have I dodged a bullet? Or have I taken one for us?

I owe you nothing, and nothing is all we are now.
But I still need your something.

'I would still die for you, and I’m trying to work out if it's because you mean so much to me, or if I mean that little to myself.'

I love you.

A great train of thought, Joseph. Many have endured this mental suffering but few have thought to question in this manner. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing. Peace
