It's Been So Long Poem by Thomas Mullally

It's Been So Long

Rating: 5.0

It's been so long,
I'm lonely,
my life feels vacant.
Confusing, it seems, yet I will pull through.

It's been so long,
I stare,
with lust, want, and need.
No reaction.
I'm lonely.

It's been so long
since that summers day;
we smiled, we cried, we loved.

Winter came; darkness overshadowed.
No longer did the sparrow sing.
No longer would the cool breeze comfort.
No longer will the sun embrace.

Drifting away,
our sea of potential crashes down on my wreck.
My beat slows,
crimson cools...

I'm lonely.

I stand,
I breathe,
I sigh,
I laugh,
I know.

Ignorance leaves, confidence proceeds

I'm strong,
but it's been so long...
