It's My Birthday

It's my birthday
feeling old
Shared some dreams
My story has been told

Bitter cold
reaches out
Saps my strength
bites my back

It's just a day
that will come and go
Filled with things
I've come to know

Gifts will come
from ones so dear
Loved ones who care
ones I want to keep near

It's my birthday
I'm feeling old
The love around me
stops the cold.

Poem of the Day

poet Sara Teasdale

Only in sleep I see their faces,
Children I played with when I was a child,
Louise comes back with her brown hair braided,
Annie with ringlets warm and wild.
