It's Not Good To Be Rejected Poem by Shalom Freedman

It's Not Good To Be Rejected

And told that one is not good enough-
It is not good to be told that one's work
Is trite, boring, clichéd, simplistic-
It is not good to know that others cannot stand you
And believe you are a nothing and a fake-
It is not good to be rejected
And despised,
Not good to be held in contempt
And simply dismissed as worthless-

But this is the price
Of letting others see your work
Somewhere somehow in some way
Some one perhaps many
Will deride you-

It is not good to be rejected-
But even when you are
You are you and must be
The best you can be-
Do your best
Its all you can do.
