You told me all I needed to know
Somehow you came amidst the vacant show
To tell me something I might fear
Something I don’t want to hear
And I’ve been losing sleep
Over the years
And I’ve been cut deep
You were so fierce
And In the darkness
Was some light
It sparked my heart
And trained my eyes
Seething plates of spiteful lies
Don’t trust the demons in his eyes
Show me light as I once knew
Whilst in the darkness the fearless grew
And I’ve been losing sleep
Over the years
And I’ve been cut deep
You were so fierce
And In the darkness
Was some light
It sparked my heart
And trained my eyes
He leant close to my left ear
Whispered words so unclear
“I love you, I… always will
But together love is dead, forever still”
And I’ve been losing sleep
Over the years
And I’ve been cut deep
You were so fierce
And In the darkness
Was some light
It sparked my heart
And trained my eyes
I crawled away, angst kicked in
He told me I was one big sin
Ironic how it’s their sharp tooth
That damages our guiltless youth
You learn to fight
Each battle alone
Insignificant dealings
They condone
What they find at least
Is shown
Don’t cry over something that
Has happened to you overgrown
In the end
They’ll steal your life
Like wielding thieves with a knife
To live a life dealt with pain
It’s not worth crying
When it rains
They are somewhat a lesser Ilk
Don’t cry over the proverbial spilt milk.
