It's Not You, It's Really Me. Poem by Masala Joseph

It's Not You, It's Really Me.

i once was that same person that has earned his trust.
in time i felt myself being hopeless & relentless, thriving to find someone other than us.
we are not of the same blood, but of the same love.
we are not the completion of another, but yet we are both as pure as a dove.
broken hearts once, and tempting to revive whats died years ago.
But no, this time i've broken the heart so much that its crumbled the soul.
what's left to hold.
i know i hate myself because everytime i pass him, i see someone else.
It's hard when your watching someone being you.
i use to be that girl, i use to be that friend, i use to be the one who's always played pretend.
But now i know pretending was a fake, because the deed i've done to him was such a mistake.
why is it after something tragic has happened, it changes what you feel inside.
it changes point of views, and permanently opens eyes.
to new experiences, to new lives.
but now i feel hesitant to cry.
because i'm the bad guy.
