It's Worth A Try

Rating: 5.0

Let's try putting pen to paper to convey
How we envision each other.
I'll be the unsolved poet, you be
My unswerving lover,
And when the ink is dry,
When my words are running low,
When my hand aches
From inscribing my emotions
Take me home.

Let's try putting music to our words to redefine
Composition as an art.
We'll indulge in song when words aren't enough
And syncopate the tempo to our hearts,
And when the keys implore for rest,
When the strings are breaking one by one,
When our harmonies at last depict precision,
Take me home.

Let's try putting dance to our melody to play
The roles of one another.
To be me you can dream all day;
To be you I'll try being tougher,
And when our feet are bags of sand,
When the day has lost its glow,
When it's well into the night
Take me home.
