It Started Out Simple Poem by Amber Jones

It started out simple,
Like something new,
I left my safe temple
To go and find you.
You were so mysterious,
And adorable too,
I was warped and delirious,
You were so true!
One day in my yard,
We sat on the ground,
And I caught you off guard
When you heard the sound
Of my heart thump-thumping
And guiding you through
The maze of my heart pumping
So enduring and true.
It was just a silly text
But meant so much more
When the step I took next
Made both our hearts soar.
I had told you I loved you
And waited for shame,
Because I knew afterwards, too,
That we’ll never be the same.
But what was my fortune?
You had startled me to
An engaging proportion –
You had loved me too!
So now, here we are,
Alone in the park,
And then in my car
All alone in the dark.
These memories we share
I shall never regret,
Because of your care
I’m so glad we had met!
So now I’ve fallen in love
And I’ll never let you go.
This gift from above
Is far greater than I'll ever know.
I love you baby,

About the big maybes
That kept our hearts true.
I was so afraid
That it all was a dream,
But baby you’ve made
My heart forever beam.
