It Was You. Poem by Livi Topley

It Was You.

I was standing in a puddle of blood and broken emotions. I was drowning and my life jacket was gone.
She kept telling me he never liked me, she made it about her when I was trying not to die.
I hated every aspect of my life because they all evolved around you.
But you made me happy, out of nowhere I remembered how to smile and how to be myself because you were my radiator, you kept me warm at night and you made this reality fuzz into the most perfect fiction.
And I fell from the greatest height I ever could till every part of my body was screaming out to be loved by you.
Then I cried, God I cried till my breath was a short angered gasp and she told me it was because of you.
