Its Ok, You Should Set Me Free Poem by Nathan Barkley

Its Ok, You Should Set Me Free

Walking in the dark
Is so easy to do
The rain drops remind me of you
So cold yet refreshing just like those fake kisses
The city lights distorts all of my wishes
I can't believe my legs are moving
My heart got crushed by love
What was i really doing?
I kept on walking till i found a blood stained dove
It look straight into my eyes
Something about it told me that it wanted to die
I didn't realize that i began to cry
Tears were flowing from my eyes
I tried to catch it
I had to try

I followed It out of the city
Into what i thought was the unknown
It was calm and the darkness had grown
The dove guided me
It stopped and landed on a dead tree
The dove began to speak
'its ok, you should set me free'
and something happened to me
I felt a great relief
It flew towards me
and it turned into my love
With her blue eyes
she looked right into me
It was as if a waterfall of emotions fell into me
'its ok, you should set me free'
The tree began to come alive
Gradually
Sun rise came up unexpectedly

Now i understand
This place was my heart
She looked at me
with a smile
yet with sad eyes
with a tear falling
i know she wanted to cry
she was more beautiful than the sky
She came closer
and blessed me with a kiss
'sorry but this means goodbye'
'We tried with all our might'
She began to disappear
forever leaving a fear
'please keep your heart full with life'
She said
and this beautiful place
became a paradise
memories of happiness filled this place
But i still miss my
Baby
