J.D.08 Poem by Kira Bloom

J.D.08

I asked for some one to love me
I did not expect an angel,
Still he came with broken wings
He showed me a world that
I could never regret, and he left

I have not been whole or hungry since
I have loved but not lived,
Then in the storm of my heart
I found a silver lining

I did everything to guard my scars
I even made a list
I asked not for an angel, but a gift

Some one with a heart like the sea
Beautiful, vast, and perilous
Who had the pain of love
And the innocence of life
Some one intoxicating addicting
An artist

I asked you for a secret
And you gave your name’s meaning
I fell the night you tucked puppy into bed
I accepted the day you went snowboarding
Falling over and deeper every times our separate worlds kiss

I wait and wonder why I am waiting
Do you only call when you need green
I hope that there is hope
You may see and some how love me
I fight when there no use in fighting
I cannot stop feeling, only keep waiting patiently

For your breath to catch at the sight of me
Your skin to hum at my touch
Your heart to rejoice in my company
And your mind to need my memories
As I have since our first meeting

But it doesn’t matter, it’s not about me
It’s about you, when you’re ready
In your time in your heart
I pray you see all I say with out words
And come to me
