Jacarandas
Some people do not like the jacarandas
because their blossoms fall
on cars, their windshields, roofs and fenders,
and so these people call
these trees a nuisance, do not love the way
they turn the world to mauve
for three weeks in the year while they display
a canopy that's chauv-
inistic from the point of view of those
who deprecate such trees
because they make a mess. Do you suppose
that any tree agrees?
