Jacket Poem by Scout Jean

Jacket

I was innocent of love
and all its components.
Then I met you on a summer may,
And I'll keep my feelings locked in my heart,
just in case I meet You again someday.

I waited for you the other night.
I put my heart out just in case you might,
Remove your blindfold,
and you wanted someone to care and hold.

I get the feeling every now and then.
I know you won't feel it,
but I can't just pretend.

and I'll wear his jacket
and he'll unknowingly wear my love.
I know it's not right.
But there's no cupid above.

I know that all that'll happen
is that I will get hurt.
I rather fight my battle,
then just get left
in
the
dirt.
