Jailbird Poem by j.c. monterrosa

Jailbird

Rating: 2.8

caged within this world we share
with boundless seas,
endless earth,
and skies that never cease…
empty in my silence,
in my quest,
in my peace…
locked within this prison,
in this lifetime,
loveless living,
heart diseased…
wandering aimless,
searching for you;
I’m the jailbird
waiting for release…
writing verses
soothed with sad songs,
killing time with words so hollow,
emptiness still rings through me…
blind with passion
I reach for you,
for you’re the one
that holds the keys…
